Discovering an Old Building

I'm fascinated by the internal structure and design of buildings and homes. I often joke to Chris that if it was legal, I'd sign up to tour people's homes while they're unoccupied during the day. When I'm on vacation, I love exploring old churches, libraries and even government buildings for this reason.

On Thursday, during the Muddy Waters Magazine launch party, I finally had the opportunity to see the inside of this beautiful old mansion on Roslyn. A building I'd gazed at in wonder for ages. It didn't disappoint: marbled flooring, sky-high ceilings and mouldings to die for, it was all I could do not to sneak off and explore the whole place.

What are the buildings that draw you?

  1. I love older buildings as well. I recently went to the capitol by where I live, and it's such a beautiful building with gorgeous detailing. These are lovely pictures.

  3. Ah that marbled floor is gorgeous!
When my man I were house hunting a year back we had such fun because it is actually the 'legal' way to peruse peoples' homes whirl they're out. Fascinating seeing other peoples style...

    1. Haha, totally agree. I've often been tempted to go to an open house just to see what other people are doing with their homes.
